La Promesa | Tegucigalpa, Honduras

Tamara Robinson and her husband Dean have dedicated more than 20 years to serving vulnerable children in both Georgia and Honduras. Their journey began when God opened Tamara's eyes to the number of children in her community without the love and nurture of a family. Since then, they have served over 50 children in foster care and have adopted 11 children into their family. Their deep commitment to foster care and adoption transformed their lives and led them to international ministry in Honduras in 2017.

In 2018, Tamara and Dean founded La Promesa Honduras with longtime missionary Christy Owen. Together, the Robinson and Owen families work to share the hope of Christ and support those serving vulnerable and at-risk children and their families in Tegucigalpa and throughout Honduras. La Promesa focuses on developing effective family-based care solutions in areas such as family preservation and foster care, Deafness and disability, education, and mental health counseling. Their ministry is grounded in a love for Christ, extensive training, and personal and professional experiences, ensuring a holistic approach to caring for vulnerable children.

La Promesa Honduras collaborates with local churches, organizations, and professionals to create sustainable care systems for vulnerable children. The ministry emphasizes the importance of family-based care, believing that every child deserves a safe and loving family. By working alongside local churches, La Promesa helps them develop and implement care solutions that address the specific needs of their communities. Tamara and Dean’s commitment to the well-being of children is evident in their daily work, which aims to provide every child with the opportunity to grow within a nurturing family environment.
