Chris and Hanna Greenwood are dedicated church planters with NAMB, working in Calgary, Alberta. Chris recently graduated from the Canadian Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master’s in Divinity, while Hanna holds a Master’s in Church Planting. Hanna grew up as part of FBC Peachtree City and is a missionary sent from our own church. In late 2023 and early 2024, they began their work on planting Church for the City in the Renfrew area of Calgary. Chris and Hanna are committed to living co-vocationally, with Chris serving as a teacher and Hanna as the Women’s Ministry Lead for the Canadian National Baptist Convention. They aim to equip lay leaders to use their jobs and skills for the glory of the Lord and the movement of the Gospel.

Church for the City is a new and growing church that meets every other week in Chris and Hanna’s home. Their initial goal is to establish multiple small groups across Calgary, meeting in homes with dedicated and trained leaders. The church is part of the Aspen Network, which supports their vision and mission.

Church for the City is founded on the principles of living for the well-being of the city (Jeremiah 29:4-7), proclaiming the Good News of Christ (1 John 4:9-15), and preparing for the coming of the Kingdom of God (Revelation 7:9-17). By focusing on small groups and community engagement, Chris and Hanna hope to foster a network of community churches throughout Calgary. They seek to create a supportive environment where believers can grow in their faith and contribute to the transformation of their city.
