Week 1 | Day 2
ALONG CAME MO
Exodus 2:1-10
Moses’ story shouts two truths: God is sovereign, and our choices still matter. From a death
decree to a river rescue, from a weeping mother to a princess with compassion, the Lord wove details no one else could—yet He did so through the faith-filled decisions of Amram and Jochebed and even the actions of an unbelieving royal household. God’s plan for Moses could not be thwarted; still, each step—hiding, releasing, nursing, relinquishing—required real trust. The tarred basket on the Nile became a quiet picture of God’s saving grace: spared, rescued, and set apart for His purpose.

Application
1. Practice Faith with Open Hands
Identify one area you’re clutching (a plan, person, or timeline). Do one concrete act this week that “releases the basket” into God’s care.
2. Expect God to Work Through Anyone
Pray for—and look for—God’s hand in both believers and unbelievers around you. Don’t limit where help can come from.
3. Obey Without Full Blueprints
Take the next right step you do know (make the call, submit the application, have the
conversation) and entrust the outcomes to the Lord.
4. Hold Gifts, Don’t Hoard Them
Like Moses’ parents, steward precious gifts (children, opportunities, influence) for God’s
purposes, even when stewardship means letting go.
5. Remember the Picture of Grace
Let Moses’ basket remind you: God delights to rescue. When threatened by fear or futility,
rehearse the truth—He saves, He keeps, He sends.

Closing Prayer
Sovereign Lord, there is none like You. You made the heavens and the earth, and You knit me together in my mother’s womb—nothing is too difficult for You. Teach me to trust You in all things at all times. Keep me from leaning on my own understanding; take Your rightful place on the throne of my life. As I release what I cannot control, order my steps for Your glory and the good of others. Rescue what needs saving, redeem what seems lost, and use me as You will. In Jesus’ name, amen.
