ENCOURAGING OTHERS
Philippians 3:15-21
As we grow up and mature in our faith, mutual encouragement with other believers is an essential ingredient. To grow up and grow together requires those who are spiritually mature to adopt the same mindset of pressing forward in faith and aligning their lives with the truth of the gospel to spur other believers along in the faith. This is because spiritual growth isn’t meant to happen in isolation—we are called to walk together, encouraging one another to pursue Christ more fully. By observing faithful examples and imitating godly lives, the church becomes a place where believers strengthen one another in the journey of faith.
As citizens of heaven, while many live focused on earthly desires and temporary priorities, as believers, we are called to live with eternal perspective. Our hope is anchored in the return of Christ, who will transform our humble bodies to be like His glorious body. Because of this future promise, we have the opportunity—and responsibility—to encourage one another to live faithfully in the present.

Application
Pursue Spiritual Maturity with Others
Growth in Christ is strengthened through community. We need other believers to thrive in our faith. Encouraging one another builds perseverance.
Learn from Faithful Examples
Paul invited believers to imitate godly patterns of living. Call them divine mentors or encouragers, but healthy models help guide spiritual development.
Guard Against Earthly Distractions
Many people live focused only on temporary their ambitions, appetites, and desires. Faith calls us to align our priorities with God’s Word and will. We can either be shaped by the world or shaped by God’s Word.
Remember Your Heavenly Citizenship
Our ultimate identity is rooted in God’s kingdom and righteousness. In salvation, Colossians 1:13 tells us that we have been colonized into God’s kingdom. This perspective reshapes how we live today.

The promise of transformation gives strength for the present. Sharing this hope strengthens the church gathered and the church scattered.

Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for the community of believers who walk alongside us in faith. Help me encourage others as we pursue spiritual maturity together. Guard my heart from being distracted by temporary things and keep my focus on my heavenly citizenship. Strengthen my hope in Christ’s return and help me live faithfully until that day. In Jesus’ name, amen.
