Week 5 | Day 2
AN INDWELLING PRAYER
Ephesians 3:14-21
In this passage, Paul bends his knees and bows his heart before the Father and prays not for circumstances to change, but for hearts to be strengthened. His request centers on inner transformation—that every believer would be strengthened with power through the Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in their hearts through faith. The prayer is relational and deeply personal. Paul longs for each of us to be rooted and grounded in love—established firmly in the unshakable love of Christ.
The intent of this prayer reaches beyond knowledge into experience. The call is that we know Christ empirically and not just informationally. God wants us to comprehend the breadth, length, height, and depth of Christ’s love and know it in such a way that surpasses intellectual understanding. The result is fullness—being filled up to all the fullness of God. The prayer concludes in doxology, reminding us that God is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think. Spiritual growth flows from divine power working within us, not human striving.

Application
Prioritize Inner Experience Over Outward Expression
True endurance and spiritual alignment begin within. We need for God to fortify our hearts and lives before altering our circumstances. The Christian life should be Christ in us living though us and not us just trying to be and do our best for Him.
Cultivate a Faith that Welcomes the Rule and Reign of Jesus
Christ dwelling in our hearts implies ongoing trust and surrender. Daily we have to bend and bow our lives to enthrone Him in our lives—such faith deepens His influence in our lives.
Root Your Identity in Love
Being grounded in Christ’s love stabilizes our emotions and decisions. Our security in His affection for us should fuel our trust and obedience to Him.
Seek Experiential Knowledge of Christ and not just Information about Him
Biblical truth is meant to be lived, not merely learned. Pray for God to take you deeper beyond the truth into intimate understanding that brings life transformation.
Trust God’s Limitless Ability
God is always working beyond what we can think or imagine. He’s working in thousands of ways at all times—yet we see only a few of them. Have confidence in His power, and it will encourage boldness in your life as you pray and pursue His mission and will for your life.

Closing Prayer
Father, strengthen me with power through Your Spirit in my inner being. Help Christ dwell deeply in my heart through faith and root me firmly in His love. Teach me to grasp the vastness of that love and live from its fullness. You are able to do more than I can ask or imagine—so work in me for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, amen.
