Week 4 | Day 4
RECONCILED WITH CHRIST
Ephesians 2:11-18
Paul next highlights the reconciling power of God’s love. He reminds the Gentile believers that they were once “far off”—separated from Christ, excluded from covenant promises, and without hope in the world. But through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross, those who were distant have been brought near because God’s reconciling love doesn’t merely improve a person’s status; it transforms their standing with Him. The cross bridges the greatest divide—between humanity and God.
Through Christ, hostility isn’t managed but abolished. Jesus Himself is our peace, breaking down the dividing wall that once separated Jew and Gentile and creating one new humanity fulfilling the promise to Abraham. Likewise, reconciliation with God produces reconciliation with one another. The same sacrifice that restores our vertical relationship with the Father also heals horizontal divisions among people. In Christ, we now share access to the Father by one Spirit.

Application
Remember Where God’s Grace Found You
Once distant, we are now brought near through Christ by grace through faith. When we learn to appreciate what God has actually done for us on the cross, our gratitude should grow when we’ve realized the distance God’s love crossed for our redemption.
Live in the Peace Christ Provides
Jesus isn’t just the giver of peace; He is our peace. Let His reconciling work calm relational tension and allow the Holy Spirit to fuel this peace through your surrender.
Reject Any and All Dividing Barriers
The cross dismantles walls built by status or culture. It tears down al false idols and exposes truth where falsehood and demonic deceit seek to lead astray.
Pursue Reconciliation with Others
God’s love restores relationships and draws people no only to the love of God but to loving one another as we want to be loved by God. Extend the peace and love you have received with others.
Rejoice in Shared Access to God
Through Christ and the Holy Spirit, we can now draw near to the Father to make Him the source of our worship. Worship flows from belonging.

Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for reconciling me through Christ’s sacrifice. Help me live in the peace You have established and to extend reconciliation to others. Tear down any barriers in my heart that resist unity. May my life reflect the love that brought me near. In Jesus’ name, amen.
