Week 6 | Day 1
Parting Ways
Exodus 14:15-31
Exodus 14:15–31 continues the Red Sea narrative as God commanded Moses to move forward in faith rather than remain frozen in fear. As the pillar of cloud separates Israel from the Egyptian army, God parted the Red Sea, creating a dry path for His people to cross. Israel walks through the waters safely, while Pharaoh’s forces pursue them into the sea. When the Israelites reached the other side, God caused the waters to return, decisively defeating the Egyptian army and ending Israel’s bondage once and for all.
This passage is monumental. God’s power was on full display not only in deliverance but in judgment, revealing that salvation is entirely His work. Israel contributed nothing but obedience and trust. This event becomes the defining salvation story of the Old Testament, shaping Israel’s identity and worship for generations. The people responded with reverent fear and renewed faith, recognizing that the Lord alone was mighty to save and fully worthy of their trust.

Application
Take the Next Step of Obedience God is Asking of You
God often places us in no win situation to teach us that even small acts of faith position us to experience God’s power.
Trust God to Open Doors We Cannot Force Open
Waiting on God’s timing prevents us from relying on our own strength. The Christian life is not e doing my best for God, but God doing His best in and through us.
Stop Looking Back at What God has Already Delivered You From
Dwelling on the past weakens faith in God’s future provision. The past is the past. It can’t be undone, but we can learn from it and build upon it.
Worship God for Victories He Alone Has Won
Praise keeps our hearts aligned with gratitude and trust. Celebrate the victories of God in your life.
Live with Confidence that God Fights for His People
Knowing God goes before us frees us from fear and anxiety. He is for us and with us.

Closing Prayer
Lord, You are mighty to save and faithful to deliver. Help me move forward when You call, trust You when the way is unclear, and obey You even when fear whispers doubt. Thank You for breaking the power of what once enslaved me and for fighting battles I cannot win. Teach me to live in awe of Your power and confidence in Your faithfulness. Amen.
