THE PASSOVER

Exodus 12:1-30

In Exodus 12:1–30, the Passover marked the night God decisively redeemed Israel from slavery. Judgment fell across Egypt, but every home marked by the blood of a lamb was spared. Salvation wasn’t based on heritage, effort, or worthiness—only on trusting God’s provision and obeying His word. That night reshaped Israel’s identity, calendar, and future. Passover became the defining reminder that God saves His people through a substitute and calls them to leave bondage behind and walk into a new life with Him.

Application

1. Trust God’s Provision, not Your Performance

Security came from the blood on the door, not the strength of the people inside. Rest in what God has provided rather than striving to earn His favor.

2. Let Faith Move You to Action

Israel had to apply the blood and prepare to leave. Ask yourself what obedience God is calling you to step into today.

3. Live from Your New Identity

God declared a new beginning for His people. Stop letting your past define you and start living as one who has been redeemed.

4. Leave Egypt Behind

Passover wasn’t only protection—it was preparation for departure. Identify what still ties you to old patterns and choose freedom.

5. Remember and Retell God’s Work

Passover was meant to be remembered and taught. Keep God’s saving grace central in your worship, habits, and conversations.

Closing Prayer

Lord God, thank You for providing a way of deliverance when judgment was deserved. Help me to trust fully in what You have done rather than what I can do. Give me a heart that obeys quickly, leaves old bondage behind, and lives boldly in the freedom You have given. Shape my identity by Your grace and use my life to tell the story of Your saving power to those around me. Amen.
