Week 9 | Day 5

God Keeps His Promises

Romans 11:11-24

Paul lifts the curtain Paul unveils a holy “mystery”: Israel’s present hardening is partial and temporary until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in. Then God will keep His covenant—“all Israel will be saved”—because His gifts and calling are irrevocable (see Romans 11:25–29). In God’s wise plan, both Jews and Gentiles have moved through disobedience so that He might show mercy to all (11:30–32). This humbles our pride, fuels our hope, and sends us on mission with a mercy-shaped posture.

Application

1. Choose Humility Over Superiority

Remember you stand by mercy, not merit; replace one proud thought today with thanksgiving.

2. Hold Hope for the “Not-Yet”

Pray by name for those who seem far—hardening can be temporary and God keeps pursuing.

3. Rest in God’s Steady Call

When you wobble: “Your gifts and call are irrevocable,” then take the next faithful step.

4. Practice Mercy as Your Default

Offer a concrete act of undeserved kindness—at home, at work, and online—because God’s plan is mercy.

5. Stay on Mission

Learn, listen, and share Jesus with gentleness and respect during this season of Gentile fullness.

Closing Prayer

Lord, thank You that Your story runs on mercy. Help me wait patiently as You work in and through my life—and beyond me in the lives of others, especially my wife and kids. Quiet my pride, steady my heart in Your irrevocable call, and teach me to choose mercy in my words and actions today. Keep me hopeful for those who seem far, and faithful in witness while trusting Your timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
